candle wax on the runners

Fixed the drawer. The one I've been going on about since around the start of winter, the one that stuck and squealed and caught halfway every single time, that M. and I both open with a little wince by now.
You rub a candle along the wooden runners. That's it. The wax fills in the rough bits and then it slides like nothing was ever wrong with it. Took maybe four minutes. I read the trick somewhere ages ago and filed it under things I'll get to and mostly don't. Today I just did it, no real reason, kettle was on and I had a spare minute.
I've opened and shut it about fifteen times since, just to feel it go. M. caught me doing it and had a turn as well. Both of us grinning at a drawer like a couple of idiots.
