the drawer that squeaks

The kitchen drawer squeaks. The one with the tea towels and everything that has nowhere else to go. It sticks about two-thirds out, so you pull harder, and then it lets go all at once and nearly ends up on the floor.

Ten minutes to fix. Probably less. A bit of wax on the runners, whatever people use. I've known for weeks. Every time I open it I make the same annoyed little noise and shut it again and get on with the day.

I've written it down now, which is usually where a job like this goes to sit for a month or three.
