too many pots

2025 · 04

The neighbour's seedlings are potted, and then, because I got carried away, I bought a load more. Known pattern. Give me a small sensible start and I'll immediately try to run a farm off a balcony.

So it's now holding:

Ran out of pots before the last one and improvised it out of an old tin, which felt resourceful at the time.

One's already dead. A little flowering thing I bought on impulse because it looked cheerful. It looked considerably less cheerful within about three days and is now, being honest, deceased. Don't even know what killed it. Too much water, too little, wrong spot. It just gave up. The others are hanging on, some more convincingly than others.

M. looked at the whole crowded arrangement and asked, not unkindly, whether I had a plan for when they all wanted watering at once. I do not have a plan. I have enthusiasm.

Still. Nice going out there with my morning tea and checking on them, seeing what's shifted overnight. Even the ones only just clinging on. More later, assuming any survive me.
